The Living Bread

"Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it, the Lord is His name, 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' "Jeremiah 33:2,3  Our Heavenly Father is telling us to call on Him, to make our requests of Him and He will answer us.  He is so faithful.  This past year we have seen His hand at work and received many answers to prayer for family issues, as well as for ministry.  "For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.  Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.  Amen."  Ephesians 3:14-21

About us

We had a wonderful time in the States with our family and friends.  The first week of February was spent in Shreveport, Louisiana with our daughter, Meshel preparing for our granddaughter, Ashleigh's, wedding.  Despite the cold, icy, snowy weather, it was a lovely wedding and a celebration with most of our family once again together.

It is interesting to note that since 1999 when we have been in Israel, the death of family or special friends has been most of the time when we were in the States.  This year our dear friend, David Lewis who sent our newsletter to those who do not have email, went to be with the Lord.  Ruth's Sister-in-law, Florence Brant, also went to be with the Lord and she was able to attend the Memorial service for her.  The week before we came back to Israel another dear friend, Catherine Stewart, went to be with the Lord.

We are so grateful for your prayers.  We returned to Israel, February 12 and were given a three month visa with very little difficulty.  Thank you for your prayers and thank You Father for guiding us in Your path.

Outreach to Pensioners

In February we delivered food vouchers to sixteen pensioners, and gave cash to two.  We continue to assist three clubs and give a stipend to a helper who assists with art projects and whatever is needed in two of the clubs.  This year we added financial assistance for a "loss support group", for pensioners – Beit Ham (warm house).

Other Assistance

We continue to assist the young widow with designated donations from a prayer group in Canada.  They also sent money for a Messianic family in our congregation.

Druz Believers

Our Druz friend, Fike's car was stolen about two weeks ago. He now travels by bus to give out Bibles and to speak with other believers.  He lost his volunteer job with the military because he was giving out Bibles.  He is blessed by your prayers.  The persecution of all the Druz believers has been increased.  Those who are a part of our congregation have not been in service since we returned.  Please pray for these dear brothers and sisters in the faith.

Beit Shalom

In February we hosted guests from Canada, Germany, Israel, South Africa, and USA.

Morning Star

Our first Shabbat back was a day of worship prayer, and fasting in the  congregation: for the turmoil in the nations around Israel; against dividing Jerusalem; and for unity in the Body of Messiah here in Israel.

We covet your prayers and appreciate your support.  We are very grateful to the Lord for each of you, and our prayer for you is, "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.  We pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe."  Ephesians 1:17-19. Please, continue to pray for us that we will follow His leadership in serving Him here in Israel.
