The Living Bread
Here we celebrate so many wonderful Biblical Holidays (Holy Days).  Pesach (Passover) this year began on April 18 at sunset with a Seder, the telling of the story of the children of Israel being delivered from slavery in Egypt.  In Jewish homes it is a long evening, starting at 6PM with questions and answers, scripture reading and songs of deliverance.  It is a joyful time and most assuredly one must celebrate with friends and family.  Traditionally these Holy Days have been designated for the "Jews".  Looking at the scripture, however, one finds that although God gave Moses the responsibility to write them down, "The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 'Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, "The Lord's appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these: … In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the Lord's Passover.  Then on the fifteenth day of the same month there is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.  On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work….On the seventh day is a holy convocation, you shall not do any laborious work" ' ".  Leviticus 23:1,2,5,6,&7.  The entire 23rd chapter of Leviticus speaks of the "Lord's appointed times", or the Feasts of the Lord.  These Feasts are also described in Numbers chapters 28 and 29.  Since we gentile believers in Jesus, have been grafted in to the "root", Yeshua (Jesus), these feasts are for us as well.
About us
We are very grateful for the Lord's provision even in unconventional ways.  One of the local kehilats used our van to take a group to a retreat and returned it with a full tank of fuel and washed it.  The price of fuel being what it is, that was a blessing.  Ellen was able to purchase a used car in very good condition, which gives her a little more mobility and she beams when she speaks of it, giving God the glory.
We will be in the States from May 21 until the first week of August, God willing.  The end of May and first week of June we will be in Austin, Texas, the middle of June in western Colorado, the first week of July in central Florida, the middle of July in Shreveport, Louisiana, and sometime in June or July in north Georgia.  If anyone has a prayer group, Sunday School class or church that would be interested in what is going on here in Israel and What God is doing through Beit Shalom Ministries, please contact us.
Outreach to Pensioners
In April we delivered food vouchers to twenty seven pensioners, and gave cash to two.  We continue to assist three clubs, give a stipend to a helper who assists with art projects and whatever is needed in two of the clubs, and financial assistance for a "loss support group", for pensioners – Beit Ham (warm house).
Other Assistance
Donations from a prayer group in Canada continue to be sent for Sheni, the young widow and her five sons.  They were blessed with extra money for Pesach (Passover).
Druz Believers
Please continue to pray for the Druz believers, that they will be able to "count it all joy, … when they encounter various trials knowing that the testing of their faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that they may be mature and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:2-4 and that they will "not lose heart in doing good, for in due time they shall reap if they do not grow weary."  Galatians 6:9
Beit Shalom
In March we hosted guests from Canada, Finland, Germany, Israel, South Africa, UK, and USA.
Morning Star
Join us in praying:  against the division of the Land and of Jerusalem; against a declaration of an independent state of Palestine; for an awakening of the unity of faith in the body of Messiah; for the physical and spiritual growth of our fellowship; for a permanent exemption of local taxes; for permission to build an exterior elevator; and that they get the building permit soon.
We continue to have nice rains even though they are less frequent. The past two days we had thunder showers and today a heavy downpour, which is unusual for this late in the spring.  We and the people of Israel are very grateful for God's favor on this nation. The Sea of Galilee is coming up still and the people of the land are thankful and many recognize it is a blessing from God.
Your prayers and your support sustain this ministry here in Migdal.  We are very grateful to the Lord for each of you, and pray, that "God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Please, continue to pray for us that we will follow His leadership in serving Him here in Israel.
