The Living Bread
Recently, God has been speaking to us about THANKFULNESS.  "In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18  "Always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father."  Ephesians 5:20  We see this over and over again in the people here in Israel.  They never thank you only once, but express their gratitude again and again.  We have been moved by their gratefulness.  Really it is easy to develop the habit of thanking someone, for an act of kindness, or a gift, but what about when things are not going well, and we are experiencing trials and difficulties?  Does our attitude of gratitude continue?  Psalm 50:14 says "Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving…".  God wants us to give Him thanks "in all things" and "for all things".  This is the "sacrifice of thanksgiving" we are commanded to give.  "For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind to do those things which are not proper." Romans 1:21,28  Let us develop a lifestyle of thankfulness.
About us
We spent our first two weeks back in Israel, showing Cody, our Grandson, around.  It is very hot here as it is in many places this time of year, but Cody enjoyed seeing the places of the Bible, and historical sites as well as modern day Israel.
Two ladies from North Carolina assisted us while they were here, by helping us put up mangos our neighbor had given us.  We made four batches of jam, three batches of chutney and put many containers of sliced mangos in the freezer.  Thank God for His bounty and for their help.  They also assisted making deliveries to the pensioners.
Ellen continues with us and has been receiving revelation to add to a book God is having her write.
Outreach to Pensioners
Cody enjoyed going with Earl to make deliveries to the pensioners.  We had two other guests who also went on some of the deliveries.
Other Assistance
Sheni and her family were very grateful for extra assistance they received  from a prayer group in Canada, which enabled her to get school books for the boys, pay for afterschool tutoring and pay for nursery for the youngest.
Druz Believers
The Druz believers continue to desperately depend on your prayers.  The persecution continues; harassments, and sometime bodily violence.  One young father who attends our congregation, was attacked at his home by several men, beaten and hit over the head with a board resulting in a trip to the hospital and stitches in his head.  He has not missed church anyway.
Fike was also blessed by support that some of you sent which provided funds to buy school books and supplies for his children.  We are still praying for victory for this family; salvation for his father and father-in-law.
Beit Shalom
Even with the intense heat, we have had a number of guests, all lovely people here on their own agendas as God directs them.  One special group came from southwest Louisiana, near our home in Orange, Texas.  One member of the group is from our home church.  It was a blessing to have them.  We could write a note about each of the groups or individuals who stayed with us as all of them blessed us by being here.
Morning Star
We joined with several congregations in the area for two days of prayer and fasting at the Ninth of Av, a national day of mourning the destruction of the temples, and other times of tragedy which took place on this day in Jewish history.  There was a special sense of the power and presence of the Lord as we met together in unity.
Shabbat before last, there was an unusual anointing of praise and worship that flowed for two hours.  The Word was given but not as expected, but by several individuals giving parts of it to make the whole.  Thank You Holy Spirit for leading us in such a precious way.
Your prayers and support sustain us and we are so grateful to the Lord for each of you.  Please continue to pray for us that we will follow His leadership as we continue to serve in Israel.
